Jami

Hi there and welcome! So glad to have you here!

I’m Jami: a Registered Nurse, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist,  and mama to 2 little loves. Along with my family, I call a ranch in northeast Montana home. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years, working everything from long-term care to labor and delivery, including a few years in Central America. When I’m not Mama Coaching, I work case management at the local hospital, help my husband on the farm and ranch, and chase after our little ones. Some of my favorites are house plants, essential oils, cooking and baking!

I became a Mama Coach because I needed one when my first little one was born. New parent, freshly postpartum, trying to figure out breastfeeding, let’s just say it was not an easy time. Unfortunately my community did not offer any resources to help so I was left to scrounge the internet, trying everything anyone said just to figure out this whole motherhood gig. We made it through, but it sure would have been a lot easier if someone could have come alongside me to encourage and support me along the way. Motherhood is such an amazing, yet sometimes challenging journey; I am excited to be able to walk alongside mamas and families through it all, to give YOU evidence-informed, practical and easy to implement recommendations and tools that empower YOU to be the best Mama that you are. All empathy, zero judgment.

I look forward to connecting with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

We get asked this one all the time.  As Registered Nurses, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in University to utilize the nursing process.

The Nursing Process is defined as, a “systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client-centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidence-based practice (EDP) recommendations, and nursing intuition.  Holistic and scientific postulates are integrated to provide the basis for compassionate, quality-based care” (*1).

Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way.  You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.

Often they are — the answer largely depends on where you live and what your private insurance covers.  For example, in the United States our services can be covered through Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).  In Canada, our services are covered under ‘Lactation’, ‘Registered Nurse Services’ or ‘Health Spending Accounts’.  Reach out to me for more information.

I am currently serving Northeast MT in the Wolf Point, Poplar, Glasgow and Scobey areas, but Contact Me and we can discuss some options!
